“PROGRESSIVE” The Meaning Today in America

The word “Progressive,” by definition means “favoring or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas:” (Oxford Dictionaries · © Oxford University Press) It is now used every day by the press to describe causes and individuals that lean to the “left”. The “Progressive” agenda, while favoring social reform and liberal ideas, is certainly nothing new.
“Progressive” now includes any far-left individual or cause that reflect the economic and socially destructive philosophies of the Socialist, Communist, and Marxist ideologies, and now appear to represent the Democratic platforms. The term should be applied with derision to any other far-left (or far-right) individuals and causes which oppose the moral compass and foundations of liberty and democracy upon which the Republic of America was built
The “Progressive” individuals have, in their minds, certain goals that they believe must be accomplished to make their country and the world better. These goals usually include more government control over the populace and that the people have less control over their government.
They want to change the government structure of their country to make the government strongly dominant over the people. Or, in other words, to do away with democracy and personal liberty, and establish a socialist or communist government and country, where the government makes decisions for the people. In America, this is their goal; difficult, but achievable.

“Progressivism has less to do with the parties and more to do with individuals who seek to redefine, reshape, and rebuild America into a country where individual liberties and personal property mean nothing if they conflict with the plans and goals of the State.”
In many situations, to achieve the full “Progressive” goal, it would usually involve a revolution in the country and the establishment of a strong dictator. Examples are Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, etc. After the revolution, the people are then controlled by a strong military force, and in turn, controlled by a Dictator and his handpicked stooges.
The rights of the people, -- those once deemed inalienable-- are strongly suppressed, and ultimate control is given to the political leaders, usually a strong dictator who puts his cronies in important government and military positions. Other strong measures are taken to control the people and suppress the possibility of an uprising by the people. History shows this process repeatedly: freedom of the press is done away with and all press are totally controlled by the government, the confiscating of all firearms, control of all education as dictated by the government and government control and ownership of businesses and religion is extremely suppressed. Businesses are confiscated and then exist for the purpose of the State.
The “Progressive” aim to gain control of the people, must, in the process, destroy. Basic freedoms of the individual must be taken away and the individual made subservient to the government. To further indoctrinate, textbooks for schools and universities are written and approved by government leadership, with revisionist histories or philosophies slanted toward the radical ideas of the Progressives.
To achieve the long term goals of the “Progressive”, certain things must take place over a period of time.

Alinski, in his book, describes in part, twelve points that must be achieved by the Progressive to gain control over the people. (Alenski)
Below are 8 points that have been attributed to Alinski, though, in our research of Alenski’s two books, we have not been able to contribute these points directly to Saul Alenski. Consider how well each of the eight points fit the progressives today.
1. Healthcare - Control health-care and you control the people.
2. Poverty - Increase the Poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3. Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4. Gun control - Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5. Welfare - Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and income)
6. Religion -. Remove the belief in God from the Government and schools.
7. Education - Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.
8. Class Warfare - Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

How well have the “Progressives” done over the past 10 years?
The “Progressive” is usually so passionate about their cause that any means justifies the end. This includes lying, demonstrations, placing Progressives in government agencies, controlling the press, and having strong influence over the courts. The Progressive considers lying to the people to achieve their goal is simply a very normal and worthwhile means of accomplish their goals.
Barack Obama and the Democrats lied over and over to the American people about Obamacare. They promised health care rates would not rise and that Americans would not lose their preferred coverage. Both were categorical lies.
These lies were apparently perfectly OK because, their lies justified the end results. Obamacare was passed only by the “Progressive” Democrats with lies and deceit while not a single Republican voted for what is measurably the most destructive bill to come out of Congress in years.
Obama has lied to the American people and Congress over and over about the “Iran Deal”. A terrible deal for America and for the world. Like Obamacare, the Iran deal will get passed because Obama has enough “progressive” Democrats to override a veto. The majority in Congress does not believe that the deal is good, the majority of Americans do not believe that the deal is good. But Obama believes that it will be good for him and for Iran. So he will get it done.
Barack Obama is the leading radical “Progressive” to ever be in American leadership.
Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader at the time, openly and deliberately lied to the American people during the 2012 presidential campaign, and did so from the Senate floor on public television; He publicly accused about Mitt Romney of not having paid taxes for 10 years. A proven lie.
Later, when confronted by the press about his lies he bragged to the CNN reporter, “They can call it whatever they want. Romney didn’t win did he?”
Reid, a real “Progressive” had the perfect and honest “Progressive” answer to the press and the American people. He disgraced himself, the United States Senate, the State of Nevada, his church and he slapped the American people in the face. But, it is all OK. The means justified the end.
Note: Reid knew full well what he was doing by making a slanderous statement that Romney had in fact not paid taxes.
He knew that he could not be sued by Romney since Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution states that members of Congress shall "be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place." The only exceptions to this rule are for treason, felonies and "breach of the peace."
The “Progressives” will use any means necessary to accomplish their goals.
One would think that the Progressives in America would never have the strength and power to radically change America toward a socialist or communist society-that it simply cannot happen in America. America is strong, very democratic and the people control the government.
But, look at all that has happened to America over the past 10 years.
We have seen it as a result of “Progressive” individuals being elected to public office, and placed in strong government positions by those whom we elect, and weld their power to radically change America.
The Progressive has little regard for the real desires of the citizens, or for that matter, the government bodies, and courts, if those government bodies and courts go against their goals. When placed in a position of power, the “Progressive’ will do anything and everything he or she possibly can to put individuals with the same far-left desires into powerful positions in government.
In the United States, this would include virtually all government agencies, like The Department of State, the Department of Treasury, (Internal Revenue Service), the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Labor, Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Labor Relations Board, Department of Education, the Department of Commerce, and others. Now all controlled by “Progressives.”
It can and is rapidly happening in America.
We have watched “progressives” stage sit-ins and riots, instigated, controlled and paid for by “progressive” left-wing individuals and organizations. For example, the “Occupy Wall Street” was organized and controlled by James Jones, and avowed communist that Obama had previously made one of his Czars. “Occupy Wall Street” seems to have died down at for a time, but expect it to arise in full strength in the 2016 presidential campaign. The “Black Lives Matter” movement is another great example, said on the news to be partly financed by, George Sores, a radical, far-left “Progressive.” The purpose of this movement will be to disrupt any and all Republican meetings, conventions and candidates attempting to speak to the American people.
Often, such far-left movements are supported by unions who pay individuals to show up for the demonstration or bus people in.
The press is excellent in labeling “Progressives” as they are usually easy to identify, and will usually mention the word “progressive” when referring to them, or their causes in articles or newscasts. Unfortunately, the meaning of the term is lost on the people and we are left to imagine only good can come from such a positive-sounding word.
Sadly, the progressive movement is taking control of America, slowly socializing the United states. This is not difficult to do because once the majority of the people realize that they can live off of the government, receive government handouts, and do not have to work for these handouts, they will support any government that will give them the most.
